Terms of Use
Beta version. Please read this before you use Tymbor.
1. Read this first
Tymbor is BETA SOFTWARE. It is unfinished. It has bugs, some of them serious. It may lose, corrupt, expose or lock you out of your data. IF YOU USE TYMBOR, YOU DO SO ENTIRELY AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Do not keep the only copy of anything you cannot afford to lose in Tymbor. Keep your own separate backups of every password and note, and keep your main key and recovery sheet somewhere safe. We cannot recover your data or your main key for you.
If you do not accept these terms, do not use Tymbor.
2. Who we are
Tymbor is made by Tymbor.com ("we", "us").
3. What you are getting
A free, early-test version of a password and notes manager for Windows, Android and a browser extension ("Tymbor"). During the beta, everything in it is available to you. When the beta ends (we will tell you first), Tymbor keeps working up to 25 items for free, and more items may need a paid plan ("Pro"). Nothing already in your vault is locked or deleted because of that.
We may change, limit, suspend or end the beta, any feature, or Tymbor itself at any time, with or without notice. A paid plan ("Pro") may be offered.
4. Provided "as is"
TYMBOR IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITH NO PROMISES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT PROMISE THAT TYMBOR WORKS CORRECTLY OR AT ALL; IS FREE OF BUGS, ERRORS, VIRUSES OR SECURITY WEAKNESSES; KEEPS YOUR DATA SAFE, PRIVATE, AVAILABLE OR UNCHANGED; WILL BE KEPT UP TO DATE OR SUPPORTED; OR FILLS IN OR SAVES THE RIGHT PASSWORD ON THE RIGHT SITE.
Tymbor has not been independently audited, and its encryption and security may have flaws.
5. Your risk, your responsibility
You are responsible for: keeping your own backups, outside Tymbor, of everything that matters; your main key, recovery sheet, devices and accounts (if you lose your main key and recovery sheet, your data cannot be recovered by anyone, including us); checking that anything Tymbor saved or filled in is right before relying on it; complying with the law and the rules of the websites and services you use it with; and any codes, files, exports or backups you create or share.
6. No liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE ARE NOT LIABLE TO YOU OR ANYONE ELSE FOR ANY LOSS OR DAMAGE OF ANY KIND ARISING FROM OR CONNECTED WITH TYMBOR OR THESE TERMS, WHATEVER THE CAUSE AND HOWEVER IT IS CLAIMED.
This includes, without limit: lost, damaged, leaked or stolen passwords, notes or other data; being locked out of accounts or devices; financial loss, lost income or profits; identity theft or fraud; wasted time; and any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD IT COULD HAPPEN.
If, despite this, we are found liable, our total liability for everything is limited to the amount you paid us for Tymbor in the 12 months before the claim, which for the free beta is zero.
To the extent the law allows, you release us from claims connected with your use of Tymbor.
7. What these terms cannot change
Some laws give you rights that cannot be signed away, or do not allow liability for fraud, intentional wrongdoing, or death or personal injury caused by negligence to be excluded or limited. Nothing in these terms removes those rights or liabilities. Where a limit above is not allowed where you live, it applies only as far as the law permits, and the rest of these terms still apply.
8. Your data and privacy
Tymbor encrypts your vault on your device. We do not receive, see or store your passwords, notes or main key. If you use sync or backup with a cloud service you choose (for example Google Drive), your encrypted data goes to that service under its terms, and we are not responsible for it. Tymbor has no accounts and no analytics. You can delete your data at any time by deleting the vault and uninstalling Tymbor; we keep nothing to delete. The Privacy Policy explains this in full.
9. Free-for-life codes
We may give a code that removes the 25-item limit on a vault. A code is tied to one vault, has no expiry date and no cash value. We can stop issuing codes, and may refuse or withdraw one that is misused, to the extent the law allows. A code does not make Tymbor any less "as is": the sections above apply to it in full.
10. Rules of use
You must not use Tymbor to break the law, to attack, probe or disable Tymbor or anyone else's systems, to get around its limits or fake a code, or to copy, resell or redistribute it without our written permission. You must not use it for anything where its failure could harm people or property (for example medical, safety or emergency uses).
11. Ending
You can stop using Tymbor at any time by uninstalling it. We can end your access at any time. The sections on "as is", your responsibility and no liability survive the end.
12. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. We will show the new terms in Tymbor and ask you to accept them again. If you do not accept, stop using Tymbor.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by applicable law. If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
14. Open-source software
Tymbor includes open-source software under its own licences. See Settings, About, Open-source notices.
